A CASTLETOWN pub is hoping drinkers will be raising a glass to celebrate the success of Manx cycling star Mark Cavendish over the next few weeks.
The Sidings has a beer called Cavendish Gold on tap for its beer festival which coincides with the start of the Tour de France on July 5.
The festival runs until July 14 by which time the Manx Express may have won a stage or two.
And Jed Clayton, chairman of the Castletown Ale Drinkers’ Society, got in the mood by cycling to the pub in lycra shorts.
Once there he raised a glass of the golden brew to wish Cavendish luck in the Tour de France and at the Beijing Olympics in August when he will ride in the Madison track event with Great Britain team mate Bradley Wiggins.
